Software Engineer

Nagi Bioscience SA is a young and dynamic deep-tech startup developing an innovative laboratory device for drug discovery research. Nagi’s technology employs robotics and AI for the automated culture and analysis of micro-organisms (e.g. C. elegans) within microfluidic chips, as efficient and sustainable alternative to animal testing to investigate human diseases and test their potential cures. In this framework, we are currently looking for a highly motivated Software Engineer to join our Lausanne team.  

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Development of embedded software for robotic device used for drug discovery. 

  • Design and implementation of software for multiple platforms (embedded Linux, Windows) in Python and Qt. 

  • Writing automated tests from unit to system level. 

  • Close collaboration with product management, biologists, and hardware engineers. 

Skills and experience required

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 

  • Experience with software development in one or more programming languages. 

  • Ability to write efficient, clean, robust, documented, and maintainable code. 

  • Team player with experience in collaborative software development. 

  • Rigorous and pro-active problem-solving mindset, respect for the deadlines. 

  • Strong English oral and written communication skills. 

Preferred skills

  • At least 3 years of industry experience as Software Engineer. 

  • Proficiency in Python programming. 

  • Previous experience with robotic systems and/or embedded software development. 

  • Experience in data analysis and/or computer vision.

Start date: September 1st, 2022 

Type of contract: 6 months on EPFL contract (Innosuisse project), followed by indeterminate term contract (CDI) at Nagi Bioscience

Activity rate: 100%
