Existing in the space between cell-based models and in vivo testing, alternative model organisms (e.g. C. elegans) have the power to deliver comprehensive, relevant results without only relying on traditional animal testing.
To accelerate scientific research we need relevant, cost-effective models that offer large, high-quality reproducible datasets as quickly and ethically as possible.
An Organism-on-Chip is a miniaturized system that confines a whole living organism, like a small model organism (e.g., C. elegans nematodes), within a microfluidic chip. This allows researchers to study complex biological processes (like drug responses) at the whole-organism level, providing more realistic data – like how a compound might behave in a full body – with the efficiency and scale of in vitro testing.
MWM patented technology
Thanks to the development of our patented Microfluidic Worm Matrices (MWM) technology, we offer the possibility of confining C. elegans nematodes within large arrays of microfluidic chambers in a simple, fast and reproducible way.
By using Nagi™ MWM patented technology, our team was able to shape a myth into a reality: the first Organism-on-Chip technology. Our microfluidic chips achieve precise control over the growth of C. elegans nematodes, ensuring optimal conditions, automated time-resolved treatment and high-content analysis across their entire lifespan.
